Currently, at Providence Church we are studying the book of Philippians. This morning we were looking at Chapter 2 verses 9-11, in these verses Paul says;
"Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,in heaven and on earth and under the earth,and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Phil. 2:9-11
As we begin to explore the power of those five letters, JESUS, I started thinking about all the ways the Old and New Testament described or name Jesus based on His direct attributes.
We are called to pursue Christ is every area of our life. In order for us to do that we must learn to know Him more intimately. So, we will take the next weeks, months or years learning all the names of Jesus throughout the Bible. You Ready?
Our first name that we are going to look at comes from one of my favorite text in the Bible.
Name: Brightness of God's Glory Heb 1:3
Hebrews 1:3 "The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word."
Wow, what power to be described in direct correlation as the Glory of God. Radiance is a powerful word. When I think of radiance, I think of radiate heat. When you open the care door on a hot summer day, and the radiant heat hits you in the face. There is no question in your mind whether you experience heat.
The same is true of Jesus and His representation of The Father, he was a direct reflection of God's Glory.
The best part is we are called to radiate the Son. When you experience His radiance, there will be no mistake. More importantly, when you carry that radiance of Christ with you, people in your path will notice.
How are you reflecting Christ today?
LIVE IT........HE IS THE REASON
