John 1: 1-5 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it" (ESV)
Many of you have walked through this crazy story that is my life, this blog is not just about that. It is about who I used to be, who I am now, and what I am becoming. As I am new to this blogosphere, I need your suggestions and support through this walk that is my life. Many have played many different roles in making me the man I am today. Some of your roles are from the past, some are helping mold me into the present. I am thankful for all of you, you know who you are.
Some of you may know that in 2003 I surrendered my life the Lord's ministry. I served on staff at churches as a intern, youth minister and pastor. Two years ago, we were very hurt by the church. I took my family and ran as fast as I could, never looking up. Over the past two years I have been doing everything I could to suppress this calling that Jesus has placed on my life. I think I just put my head down and went into survival mode.
On Sunday, during a church service at Brookwood Baptist Church in Shreveport, the Lord got my attention. He made me aware that I have been ignoring the one key tool that I have, His Word.
I have studied John 1 many times, but it really became fresh and alive this morning. The scripture says the the Word was there in the beginning. At the beginning? Wow! So at the beginning of creation, God's Word was living. Later in verse 14 it says that "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.." This Word that we have became Jesus in living form. The Lord just reminded me that He is right with me at all times, and I have the living, breathing, life changing Word at any time.
This is such an awakening reminder to me. This reminder, although it may seem so simple to some. Is life changing for me and my family. Jesus has a plan, but it will be revealed in His Word.
I urge you to dust off that bible that you have, the Lord has a message for you. Regardless of where you are in life, He will speak to you through this living, breathing Word of God.
In His Service
